Calling all cafe-loving Coastsiders!
Would you like to see less single-use disposable cups?
OKAPI Reusables is partnering with the City of Half Moon Bay to offer reusable, returnable cups to local Coastside cafes. Customers borrow the cups by scanning a QR code at the counter using a mobile app. Cups can be taken to-go for up to two weeks, then returned the next time you’re back at the cafe. Cafes wash and sanitize the cups, the same as they would dine-in dishware.
With a subsidy from the San Mateo County Office of Sustainability, this is actually free for local cafes for the first year! Customers pay a one-time $10 fee to join.
